Oil Level in the Haldex Clutch, Checking


The instruction is suitable for the following models:
Special tools and workshop equipment required Torque Wrench 1331 5-50Nm VAG1331 Vehicle Diagnostic Tester Also for filling: Charging Device For Haldex Coupling 2 VAS6291A High Performance Oil for the Haldex Clutch is available as a replacement part. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

Test Requirements

The oil temperature must be between 20 and 40 °C (68 to 104 °F). The vehicle must be on a level surface. The oil temperature can be reached by driving the vehicle for awhile.

Perform the following:

Turn off the ignition and connect Vehicle Diagnostic Tester to the diagnostic connection. Refer to Go to article Vehicle Diagnostic Tester , Connecting and Selecting the Function ”
The instruction is suitable for the following models:
. Select “Suspension (Repair Group 01; 40 through 49)” in the display. Select “AWD with Haldex clutch” in the display. Select “01 - OBD-capable system” in the display. Select “AWD Haldex” in the display. Select “electrical components” in the display. Select “oil temperature” in the display.

Checking the Oil Level

Remove the oil filler plug arrow . (Shown with final drive removed).

The oil level is correct if the Haldex clutch is filled to the lower edge of the oil filler hole or up to 3 mm below the oil filler hole.

Tighten the bolt arrow to 15 Nm.
